Must-Have: Statement Necklaces

Statement Necklaces are huge throughout every season. The trend stays for a reason. It is the most easiest way to perk up any outfit.  No doubt statement necklaces became my wardrobe staples.

You don't have to spend a lot of money on statement necklaces. Here are my recent favourites. I just can't wait to wear them.

Pattern Play: How to Mix Prints

Within the last few years, mixed print is one of the biggest trends. From runway to real life, the trend is all about unleashing creativity.  Being conservative is not always the option. Sometimes, mixing prints can be fun and it is not too hard to pull it off.

Rule of thumb, mix and match any kind of print as long as they share most of their colours. Whether your style is more towards modern romantic or sports luxe, here are a few how-to’s on mixing prints to create visually appealing looks.

Fast Fashion Vibe: Jeremy Scott's Debut Collection for Moschino

Many of you may have already watched the Fall 2014 Moschino show last week. That was Jeremy Scott's debut collection for Moschino.

Not surprisingly, he's known for his sense of humor in his designs. In my opinion, this time his take on fast fashion has gone too far. He was trying to play with the whole concept of fast fashion and incorporated McDonald’s iconic red and yellow palette to complete some of the looks. Sure, those McDonald’s-inspired looks are playful, a bit of quirky, and most importantly statement makers. Maybe it is hard to find the balance between flashy and classy.

Moschino, the Italian label's motto was "fashion should be fun and should send a message". Despite of the bold, vibrant colours, Moschino always has a touch of elegance and luxury feel. After Jeremy Scott took the helm, I didn't see the classy Italian Moschino from this capsule collection. What do you think?

Intro

Hello world! I am Tatiana, welcome to The Iridescent Effect. I thought about starting blogging for quite some time but for some reason I was afraid of entering the blogosphere and committing to regular posts on the blog. I need to be willing to put time and energy into blogging. Meanwhile I have to admit that deep in my heart, I have huge passion for fashion, food, music, and travel.  I want to share my personal style as well as my current favorites in fashion, food, art and the like.

A lifetime is not forever. I want to take my chance to live a life to the fullest and enjoy every moment of the journey, and appreciate where I am at this moment. I don’t want to look back years later and think of what could have been done. I want to share my experiences and go through my life without regrets.  It’s time to make a decision. It is never too late to start a blog.

Bloom Power

The flower trend is everywhere this season. Ranging from bold prints to soft pastel colours, designers have different take on this evolving trend. The titan of floral print, Dolce & Gabbana, incorporated soft floral motifs into the design. The Mediterranean heritage is being showcased from the ‘60s-inspired prints and shapes. The pretty floral print on the dress feels so elegant and feminine. Keep the look feminine with neutral coloured shoes. This bow-back pump from Lanvin is truly a  display of femininity. This Givenchy floral-print coated clutch speaks for itself. It can instantly spice up any outfit. Teaming floral print with metallic accessories will give the look some edge.
